Vonage run by computers not real people!!!!

I called vonage to cancel my service, it was 3 days before the 2 year contract expiration, told them to just waive the fee. Would not do it, the rep said that the systems are run by computers and nothing could be changed, ridicules!!! So, told them to not disconnect me, since I could wait the 3 days. They disconnected on that same day and charged me $40, these people are crooks.

Vonage Adapter Review

I recently bought a new wireless router that had more power, but would not accommodate my Vonage phone service. I saw this product, it seemed like it would work, and I bought it, set it up, and wow! It solved my problem, and everything works great now!

Vonage - the worst thing that happened to communications

I'll tell you why I hate this service so much:

1. Major downtime - I lost service for more than 10 days within the past year
2. Sound quality - very loud static, especially when bandwidth is consumed (like when someone is online)
3. 15 minute or longer wait time to get a service rep
4. Penalties - $40 to cancel within 2years

I canceled this service and bought the Ooma. $250 one time cost, NO service fees and no downtime. I've been using it for 2 months now. Plus Ooma has far better sound quality and all the features of Vonage.

ABSOLUTE WORST

DHCP does not work
Static IP does not stay when unplugged

Most of the settings are not applied during configuration
No default IP or "emergency" configuration.

This is the worst ATA that I have every owned and had the misfortune of using.

Avoid at any cost.

So far, so good (product review, not Vonage review)

My problem with Vonage adapters/routers has been product lifespan, so only having this for a month, I cannot speak to that. However, the product so far was easy to set up, and appears to work quite well. I would possibly give it five stars if I was doing this review two to three years from now.

One note for setup - use the instructions/website with the manual - do not try to "be smart" and go through your Vonage account - it is impossible to find through there. That will save you time trying to change your MAC address.
